Submit
The Princeton Economic Development Authority (PEDA), Princeton Rotary Club, and the Chamber of Commerce of the Two Virginias have partnered to create the Princeton Business Works Grant, a source of funding valued at $1,250, meant to provide relief to businesses planning improvement projects.
Administering this grant is the Princeton Business Works Committee, a group of Rotary Members, the PEDA Director, and the Chamber CEO. The Committee accepts applications via online form, email, or in-person and reserves the right to deny applications for cause. Once submitted, the committee will view the submission and promptly notify awardees. Requirements for grant distribution include a small presentation and discussion of the applicant’s business and improvement project at a Princeton Rotary Club meeting (held on Fridays at noon in Princeton City Hall). Below, you’ll find common examples of both qualifying and non-qualifying expenses:

Qualifying Expenses
- Repair or replacement of windows, doors, walls, or other architectural elements of your business property
- Painting, decorative lighting, awnings, or canopies
- Conversion of storefront, masonry repair, cleaning, or paint removal
- Restoration of historical elements of a property
- Repairs, updates, or improvements in response to a City inspection
- All materials and labor for work performed in association with above-mentioned expenses
- Professional or contracted services utilized for the completion of the above-mentioned expenses and/or other direct business support projects
Non-Qualifying Expenses
- Expenses incurred before ninety days from deadline
- Property Acquisitions: Mortgages, land contract financing, or loan fees
- Operating Costs: Common expenses incurred within a normal day-to-day or building permit fees
- Inventory Acquisition: Applications intended to purchase, lease, or otherwise acquire goods to be sold
- Personnel Expenses: Applications intended to subsidize a benefit to employees of applicant

Active in Princeton | For businesses within the incorporated city limits of Princeton, WV, with an active business license. |
B&O Taxes | Good standing with B&O Tax obligations. |
Ineligible Expenses | Inventory, salary expenses, or other operating expenses (such as utilities) are ineligible for this grant. |
Rotary Club Presentation | Recipient must attend a Rotary Club of Princeton meeting and participate in a business/project presentation. |
Grant Award | Grant funding is paid directly to applicants. |
Proof of Exependitures | Proof of expenditures equating to or exceeding the grant amount must be provided with applications. |
Award as Reimbursement | Grants will be awarded as a reimbursement of work completed, with the applicant providing recipients of costs within the quarter of shown costs. |
PLEASE NOTE | Even if your type of improvement project is not listed or is implied as being a qualifying expense, Princeton business owners are still encouraged to apply, as the Princeton Business Works Committee awards funding for this grant at its discretion. |
